Flex Park at Colorado Outdoors
Montrose’s newest park, the Flex Park at Colorado Outdoors, is a 24,000-square-foot public recreation area that opened in July 2024. The park adds a flexible recreation space along the Uncompahgre River Trail. The park is located near new public restrooms, and adjacent to businesses such as Secret Creek, Bright Beginnings, and Flex Rec.
The new park provides a natural resting point for guests along the trail, adding more green space and play areas for residents and families on the north end of Montrose.

Montrose’s newest park, the Flex Park at Colorado Outdoors, is a 24,000-square-foot public recreation area, now open as of July 2024. The park adds a flexible recreation space along the Uncompahgre River Trail. The park is located near the recently completed public restrooms, and adjacent to businesses such as Secret Creek, Bright Beginnings, and Flex Rec.
The new park provides a natural resting point for guests along the trail, adding more green space and play areas for residents and families on the north end of Montrose.
The construction team is made up of several locally-owned businesses including Skip Huston Construction, Rainmaker, England Fence, Del-Mont Consultants, and Cold Canyon Electric.
Construction work will include:
- New landscaping with abundant, multi-use grass areas
- Upgraded ADA parking and with new ramps for park access
- Upgraded irrigation systems and new stormwater
- Concrete and LED lighting walkways
- Steel fencing
